Police release Revolutionary Maoist leaders, Valley bandh withdrawn

Kathmandu. Four leaders and cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary Maoist), who were arrested from Bagbazaar on Wednesday, have been released on Saturday.

According to the party, police have released party Central Committee Member, Shiva Ram Yadav, All Nepal Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) coordinator Ram Nepali, Central Committee member duo Mahesh Shrestha and Dipendra Sunuwar.

All of them were arrested from Bagbazaar, Kathmandu on Wednesday on the alleged charge of extortion while they were going to the public as a part of party’s ideological, political and economic campaign.

Meanwhile, the party has also withdrawn valley bandh called for Sunday. According to In-charge of Newa State, Dines Sharma ‘Sagar’, the party has withdrawn the bandh program after the arrested leaders and cadres were released on Saturday.

The party had called for Valley bandh for Sunday demanding immediate release of its cadres and leaders.
