Students from All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), a sister-organization of the Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary Maoist) poured into the streets on Thursday against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s state-visit to India. They staged their demonstrations at Shantibatika in the Capital at around 3 PM, an hour prior to PM Dahal’s India visit.
During the protest, students warned Prime Minster Dahal not to ink any agreements that are against interests of Nepal and the Nepali people. According to students, PM Dahal may sign some treaties with India that might be against Nepali people.
Students also strongly urged PM Dahal to make initiatives in order to scrap all unequal treaties that were signed between Nepal and India over the past years.
Hundreds of students close to ANNISU(R) were present at the demonstration.
PM Dahal had left for India this afternoon as his first official state-visit to India with a 116-member jumbo delegation at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
